Of all the traditions you wish to pass on, genetic disease should not be one of them! That's the message MorningStar's Teal Ribbon Project (TRiP) hopes to share this week as it presents a series of events focused on cancer awareness.
The Thursday, March 11, 2010 evening events are all at the JEA (5111 Abercorn Street in Savannah with free parking) include:
5 to 7:30 PM Healthy Girls' Nite Out for the college set-- Food and fun with serious talk about staying safe and healthy for St Patrick's festivities and always. This includes guest speakers Dr. Pamela Gallup and SCAD's Sophia Viola.
6:30 PM -9PM-- Cancer Answers Health Fair-- a presentation organized by the American Cancer Society in honor of Colorectal Cancer Month run by Kylene Hartsfield.
7 to 8:30 PM Family Matters: Breaking the Pattern of Genetic Disease a panel of experts in the field of genetic disease and family counciling starring Dr. Deborah Barbouth from the University of Miami Victor Center and others.
