They say a picture is worth a thousand words but a clip of video is earning a Lowcountry man a one-on-one with a country music celebrity and a lot of media attention.
Justin Vaughn's not the kind of guy to knock a man while he's down, but when it's country music star Brad Paisley, who welcomes the attention, that's a different story.
"I am the guy who captured Brad Paisley falling. It's been all over the news and he asked for the clip and I posted it,” Justin Vaughn said.
It was the tail-end of the performance that Paisley wound up on his tail-end. And it just so happened Justin was rolling not on the ground like Paisley but with his camera.
"There were thousands of people there and I guess nobody else caught it at the time but I hated to see him fall but I'm glad I got to catch it because now I get to meet him,” Vaughn said.
That night Paisley tweeted that whoever posts the footage gets a meet and greet at a future concert- and you better believe this Brad Paisley fan got right on it!
"I heard from his manager the next day and he said Brad would like to meet me,” Vaughn said.
The rest that's come along is just icing on the cake.
"The video has been viewed over 493,000 times so far. I've been contacted by Inside Edition- it's been on CNN, Fox News, TMZ, just about everywhere you can look online it's been there,” he said.
And Vaughn admits he's enjoying this little ride and getting a better understanding of that saying, “save the best for last.”
"It was his last song- I figured I'd record it-- it was something I wanted to keep,” Vaughn said.
Vaughn is a student at USC Beaufort and is on spring break -certainly one he'll never forget. He says his two dreams are meeting Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. He sees Underwood in concert in May and will definitely bring his camera!
