HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Authorities said three people are facing several charges, including trafficking marijuana, after an investigation by the Beaufort-Jasper Multi Jurisdictional Drug Task Force.
The Drug Task Force wrapped up an investigation Wednesday at 86 Helmsman Way Apt. 303-D, and 5 Gumtree Rd. Apt. I-22 on Hilton Head Island.
Authorities stopped a rental vehicle that was seen leaving the address on Helmsman Way. Investigators found about 20 lbs. of marijuana inside. The two people in the vehicle, Jamaine Andrew Tandy and Vincent James Robinson, both from Savannah, were charged with trafficking marijuana.
Officials said a second traffic stop in the area of Shelter Cove Mall revealed additional marijuana and other drugs. Veronica Joy Amabile was arrested in that traffic stop.
Authorities said the three suspects had marijuana shipped into the Hilton Head Island area.
In searches of the two homes, officials seized marijuana, a Smith and Wesson .40 cal semi automatic pistol, shipping material and drug paraphernalia.
Tandy and Robinson both face an additional charge of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Amabile is charged with possession of Xanax, possession of marijuana, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
