It was all the hype on Tybee Island last year and in just a few weeks we all get to see the final product when Miley Cyrus and Greg Kinnear's new movie "The Last Song" comes out.
Thousands flocked to the island last summer in hopes of catching a glimpse of the stars or even being in the movie.
I talked to a business owner about what's planned for the release and the upcoming tourist season.
Susan Kelleher, one of the co-owners of Seaside Sisters, a funky-artsy gift shop on Tybee Island shows me what they've done to get the shop ready for the tourists expected to flock to Tybee after "The Last Song's" release.
"Last summer we had a lot of tourists coming, we had a lot of people, mostly 13-year olds planning or getting their parents to plan their vacation for Tybee, which is fabulous for us because it's just more exposure to our great island," Susan Kelleher talks about what business was like last summer.
Kelleher is among many who expect bigger business, so they've expanded the shop and added more great gifts.
"This movie is going to be a love song to Tybee. We're just expecting really great things,” explains Kelleher.
And with great things on Tybee come great celebrations.
"We just decided that we needed to have a party because that's what Tybee does," she adds.
And Tybee's doing it up right with a release party at the gym complete with hundreds of people, food, entertainment, trolleys to the movies and back with a post party at Huc a Poos...But instead of doing it Hollywood style, they're doing it Tybeewood style with a flip flop red carpet.
"There's a huge amount of excitement to see how they're going to look on the big screen. Everybody wants to see how their island is going to be portrayed and I heard that the cinematographers did a really fine job,” she says with a smile.
“The Last Song" has already generated new business and events for Tybee; a seafood festival to be held in April and the use of the church from the movie as a wedding chapel for destination weddings.
Again, "The Last Song" will be released in theaters on March 31st.
