More than 1,500 runners will lace up their running shoes for the Shamrock Run to benefit the March of Dimes tonight. News 3's Randi Hempel will be live in City Market for the beginning of the race and then take to the streets with the rest of the runners.
More than $50,000 has been raised to fund research and help put information about premature babies and the work the March of Dimes does here in the community.
Besides helping a great cause, folks will be got in the St. Patrick's Day spirit with a costume contest. $400 went to the person with the best costume while 2nd place got $200 and 3rd place received $100. You can't forget the pets. The best costumed pet wons $100 sponsored Fleet Feet Sports and Brooks.
