Though the holiday honoring the birth of slain civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Junior has passed, the celebration of his life and legacy continues.
This afternoon, Savannah's MLK Observance Day Association held its 21st annual Unity Luncheon- bringing people together from all walks of life.
The event featured musical entertainment from Teddy Adams and Company. The theme for today.. big hats. The first 25 to sign up had a chance to model their headdress for prizes.
Proceeds from the event will support the organization's annual scholarship program to local graduating seniors and its "Giveback" program to area non-profit organizations.
The luncheon was originally scheduled for February 13, but had to be postponed due to inclement weather.
