SAVANNAH, Ga. -- A foot pursuit on Savannah’s Westside lead to a Savannah Chatham officer being stabbed this morning.
A spokesperson for the Police department says the officer was chasing the suspect when the suspect turned around and stabbed the officer.
Thankfully the officer had on protective vest so was not seriously wounded. He is currently being treated at Memorial with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect on the other hand was shot and killed following the altercation.
Law enforcement is still on the scene investigating the incident.
