The Savannah Arts Academy’s Theatre Department presents their spring play, "YouCan’t Take It with You", as a dinner theatre on March 25 - 27, with dinner at 6:00 PM and the show at 7:00 PM. Dinner Theatre tickets are $25 and must be reserved by Friday, March 19th. Show only tickets are available by reservation or at the door. General admission is $10 and Students and Senior Citizens are $6. Tickets can be reserved by calling (912) 201-5528.
YouCan’t Take It with You is a Pulitzer Prize winning comedy which highlights the romance of a young girl from an eccentric family, and her fiancé, and his ultraconservative family and the ensuing problems when these two families meet.
Part of the proceeds from this play will support the 21 theatre students from the Savannah Arts Academy who will be taking the play "The Katrina Project: Hell and High Water" to the American High School Theatre Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland in August of this year. This festival is part of the international Edinburgh Fringe Festival held every year. Savannah Arts Academy is one of 43 high schools from across the country selected for this honor. Proceeds from this production will help to send these students who are participating in this prestigious event to Scotland.
