SAVANNAH, GA: After a chase, Savannah-Chatham Metro Police caught their man, and now have one of Savannah's most wanted in custody.
32 year old Asalm McKitchen is now in custody after he attempted to escape officers Saturday morning.
This is the result of a several month long investigation into a so called 'chop shop" which would steal and strip cars.
Just before 11:00 a.m. Precinct five officers attempted to serve several warrants on McKitchen after he was located in a residence in the 2000 Blk. of Causton Bluff Rd.
McKitchen fled on foot but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and served with 14 warrants that were on file for him.
McKitchen was wanted in connection with an auto theft ring, forgery and fleeing to elude police.
