Saturday, the Horizon Gallery opened its doors for the first public viewing of the "Art Cure" exhibit.
Throughout the gallery, guests will find paintings and other works of art created by local breast cancer patients and survivors.
The works of art are marked with a pink ribbon for easy detection.
Tatiana Von Tauber is one of the horizon's co-owners. And she says its all about expression.
“It’s special because for me, I got to bring a new expression to the survivors’ lives. I wanted to introduce art as another way of expressing some of the emotions that they might have that they don’t even realize they have and some of them were really moved by the experience.”
The collection will be on display through the rest of October and is open to the public.
Anyone can bid on the pieces and one hundred percent of the funds raised will go to local breast cancer support groups.
