The Georgia Ports Authority is meeting this morning to discuss deepening the Savannah River. Proponents of the idea say deeper water would mean larger ships could come to port and thus increase business for the city.
The deep water ports are one of the state's strongest economic engines but opponents of the deepening proposal say the project would be too expensive. We'll have more on this story tonight on News 3 at 6.
