It was a brutal crime back in March of 2007, one that saw a son charged with killing his own father.  Now that man, Frederick William Choisnet, has been found guilty in connection with the crime.

According to the Chatham County District Attorney's office, the defendant brutally attacked his 83 year old father causing over 206 injuries.  That was on March 5, 2007 at the family home at 315 Leedsgate Road. The D.A.'s office says the defense did not dispute the murder and claimed that Choisnet was not guilty by reason of insanity.

The jury deliberated for four days. The district attorney's office says 57 year-old Choisnet was found guilty on all counts, but that the jury also deemed he was mentally ill at the time of the crime. Choisnet faces life in prison, five years of that may be probated.
