Potential presidential candidate and TEA party leader Michele Bachmann came to Bluffton, to speak about the state of government and the importance of registering to vote.
Bachmann and South Carolina state Senator Tom Davis, both spoke about important issues to the hundreds of folks that turned out. Some neighbors say they came out because they wanted to hear a different point of view on the country's current situation.
"I'm not a part of the TEA party, i don't even consider myself a terribly political person, but I'm curious, and interested in hearing Michele, because I've heard her name in the news lately, and wanted to hear what she said," said Nancy Horkay of Bluffton.
Bachmann spoke a lot about change, and the issues she feels need to be addressed.
"We can cut the spending back, we can cut taxes on job creators, and we can have great job creation in our country again. I'm a private job creator, my husband and I, and I'm also a tax attorney and I see how devastating high taxes are. And im really encouraged about what we can do."
The main goal of the rally was to get folks to register to vote, and Hilton Head resident David Sherwood said voting is really what it's all about.
"We're the finest country, with the finest people in the world, and people need to vote."
