A 71 year old Statesboro man was arrested Friday afternoon after he allegedly stole a 1986 Ford pick-up truck from The Store on state route 46.
The victim told police he went inside and saw a man get into his truck and leave.
The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office began searching the area around Register and Nevils for the truck.
Authorities say they found Jerry Futch, 71, lying next to the truck which had been driven into a ditch.
Futch was charged with theft by taking motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain lane and DUI.
Before being booked into the jail, Futch was taken to the hospital because of his level of intoxication, investigators said.
