Crew at Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum Makes History Using WWII Era Radios

»  Comments | Post a Comment

History came to life Wednesday afternoon at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Pooler.

The crew from the museum's "City of Savannah" World War II B-17 transmitted a message to another crew in the "Miss Liberty" B-17 in Louisiana.

They used WWII-era radios that were rebuilt with the help from members of the Coastal Amateur Radio Society of Savannah.

They have worked on the project for the last year and half.
