Chatham Area Transit Looking at Upgrades to Facilities

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Chatham Area Transit is moving ahead with plans for a new transit center in downtown Savannah.

The plan is to convert the current Greyhound Station on Oglethorpe Avenue.

It will still service Greyhound but customers will also be able to catch a C.A.T. Bus or a trolley at the location.

In addition to a major interior renovation they will be making several improvements outside also.

That’s not all; CAT is also planning to renovate their facility on Gwinnett Street.

They are looking to expand and improve the space which they say is outdated.

The proposed changes would give CAT more office space, create a more welcoming ticket area and a bus wash area.

CAT says it will be more environmentally friendly and hope it leads to a more efficient operation.
