Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to speak at the largest gathering of charter school advocates in the nation.
Clinton will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Washington, D.C.-based National Alliance for Public Charter Schools on Tuesday during the annual National Charter Schools Conference in Atlanta.
The conference is expected to draw 4,000 people from across the country. It runs through Thursday at the Georgia World Congress Center downtown.
Other speakers at the conference include Children's Defense Fund founder Marian Wright Edelman, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker.
