A Savannah group is another step closer to winning a grant to help restore the home of civil rights leader W. W. Law.
The Historic Savannah Foundation held a voting party in downtown Wednesday night in an effort to snag the $25,000 grant. Anyone who provided an email address to vote got to enjoy drinks and refreshments.
Thanks to the party they've moved up to fifth place, but they still need your help to win.
"First place is still a wide gap from us, so we certainly need a lot of support from the community so that we can get all the way into that first place and win $25,000 for places that matter in Savannah," said Jessica Pedigow of the Historic Savannah Foundation.
The contest runs through 4:59 p.m. June 30. To vote, visit http://www.myhsf.org.
