Detectives are investigating an overnight home invasion that left a five year-old recovering from a serious gunshot wound.
Savannah Chatham Metro Police were called to the 2200 block of Iowa Street around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
The victim told police she answered a knock at the door to find two men with guns. She told detectives the men tried to force their way inside and one of them shot her five year-old child.
Authorities said the child was taken to Memorial with serious injuries. The two men left the area in a dark colored sedan.
The first is described as a black male with a light complexion, 6'2", gold teeth on top and bottom, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.
The second is a black male with a dark complexion.
