(Jackson, GA.) Throughout the day Wednesday a rainbow of faces with a common cause the cry for justice.
As minutes slipped off Troy Davis life supporters still believed in his innocence.
A church rally revealed a heartbroken family.
"We are saddened by this. We are very upset about this, and want people to understand that our family is hurting too but we will not give up the fight," says Martina Correia.
Her brother spent half of his life prison.
"our lives , and my sons and my sister, and brothers life and my nieces life has been richer for knowing Troy. Anybody whose met troy come away with an imprint on their souls."
His death sentence sparked a national human rights movement.
"Troy Davis has impacted the world. My brother said he never thought people would know his name across oceans across the states, places like Tanzania, the Middle East and they're still saying I am Troy Davis."
For 22 years Martina says the state tried to keep troy voiceless but failed.
"They don't want you to know who Troy Davis is because then you couldn't stand by and allow this state to kill troy in your name."
Battling cancer Martina never gave up on the brother that she loved so much.
"Several months ago I was doing fine and after that I couldn't get up out of the chair, but I'm here to tell you that I'm gonna stand up for my brother today.
I am Troy Davis. You are. We are Troy Davis. Now let's get to work and let's show Georgia that we will not standby, we will defy them and we need to start with that gold dome."
Troy Davis is silenced, but his family vows to spend the rest of their lives fighting against the death penalty.
The Davis family visited with Troy for the last time Wednesday.
They haven't released any information about what was discussed because they say it was personal.
