Two accused drug dealers are in jail after calling police to say they had been robbed at a Savannah apartment complex.
Kyle Hodges and Calvin Williams, both 19, told Savannah-Chatham Metro Police officers that they were robbed at gunpoint while parked inside an apartment complex in the 4900 block of LaRoche Avenue around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
During their investigation, Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team found what they describe as a "large amount" of marijuana inside Williams' vehicle.
The street value of the pot is approximately $10,000, authorities said.
Williams and Hodges were both arrested on charges including Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Criminal Attempt to Sell a Controlled Substance.
While searching the area for the suspect, Savannah State University Police located Darius Harper, 20, near a dumpster on campus.
Harper fled from officers but was quickly apprehended by police, investigators said.
Harper could not be definitely identified as the one who robbed Williams and Hodges but he was arrested and charged with Loitering and Prowling and Obstruction by Fleeing.
Officers searched the dumpster where Harper was originally seen and found clothing matching the description of the armed robber, along with a pistol and marijuana.
