Dancers from the Ballethnic Dance Company delighted the crowd Friday night at the Johnny Mercer Theater. The Ballethnic Dance Company is a classically trained culturally diverse ballet company that blends traditional ballet with the artistic influences of other ethnic cultures-especially African American-to produce unique and exciting dance performances. It’s all part of the 23rd Annual Savannah Black Heritage Festival.
WSAV news anchors Russ Riesinger and Tracy Haynes emceed the event at the Savannah Civic Center. Dr. Walter Evans, and Dr. Otis Johnson were honorees, along with Janie Fowles and Piccolo Pierce, who were honored posthumously
