College students aspiring to launch careers in journalism attend the 61st Annual Southern Regional Press Institute at Savannah State University to learn from the pros.

Students are getting an opportunity to hear from media professionals speak on several topics including how to write for multiple platforms, how to draw readers in, and effective public relations writing.

Area high school students are also taking part in special workshop on writing the multi-media story.

WSAV is once again participating in the conference. News Three's Kim Gusby, Monica McNeal, Russ Riesinger, Tracy Haynes, Tuquyen Mach and Ken Slats were all slated to speak at the two-day event.

Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback on careers in media.
