A standout student-athlete from Savannah Country Day has been killed in a one vehicle accident in South Carolina.

The Jasper County Coroner confirms that Stuart Sligh died when the Toyota truck he was driving rolled over while on private property on the New River Hunting Club around 5:45 Saturday evening.

The Highway Patrol says Sligh was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Another passenger was injured and transported to the hospital.

Sligh was a bright spot on a struggling Hornets football team as a sophmore-- throwing for over 1000 yards and earning 2nd team 3-A All-Region honors.

Sligh also was a standout baseball player at SCDS.

The accident is still under investigation.
