Top spellers at Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts faced off Friday.
The finalists from fourth through eighth grades competed in the spelling bee, and they had some tough words to spell. There was a lot at stake because the winner goes on to compete in the district spelling bee.
Danielle Messing snagged first place with Sabrina Ang coming in second.
