For the third time in the last two months, firefighters are now battling a wildfire in Long County.

Georgia Forestry officials tell News 3 about 250 acres have burned in the area of Pearl Davis road and Tibbitt road, near Highway 84 between Ludowici and Walthourville.

Right now most of what has burned is heavily forested swamp area.

The fire is 90 percent contained, but Tibbet Road remains closed.

At no time were structures in danger nor was an evacuation of the area ordered.

Georgia Forestry is bringing in more tractors to make fire breaks in the woods to keep the fire from spreading.
