The Snooky Craze in our Hometown

(Bulloch County, GA) Whenever you're on East Kennedy Street in Bulloch County you know you've taken a step in the right direction.
Foodies flock to Snooky's.
The popular restaurant named for Bruce Yawn's father has been a part of the community since 1970.
"His real name is Vivian Dake Yawn and his nickname was Snooky.  So that's how we came up with the name Snooky's."
No matter what your taste buds are craving you can be sure it's going to be good.
"We use ham hocks and fat back to do the seasoning.  It's not the most healthy thing in the world, but that's we use and people seem to like it."
You'll get some of the best advice and best stories at the round table.
Every day starts with the coffee club.
“Those two round tables in the course of from 6 until 11 in the morning turnover as many as 60 people."
 There's a great spirit here. 
You could call Snooky's a second headquarters for Georgia Southern legendary Coach Erk Russell.
"And that's probably one of the things that made it popular and famous too is his presence here."

This is Lynn Batten's comfort zone where he enjoys a leisurely lunch almost every day.
"I enjoy coming here and relaxing also socializing with the guys around the round table, but I also have a little office area where I come and read."       
His favorite food…
"A little grill cheese on wheat bread along with a soup.  I also like the grilled chicken salad."
Snooky's gets a great customer satisfaction report card from Denise Meeks.
"I like the French toast and the ham and cheese omelet.  My favorite is the breakfast.  Now my husband likes the grilled chicken sandwich and the kids love chicken fingers and the bar."  
When you make a habit out of providing a great dining experience loyalty is what you get.
"I'd like for people to think that you know at least i provided a place that they could go and eat and have fun.  I want people to know that they were treated fairly and appreciated."
 Bruce Yawn told me he has 12 employees.
 Six have been with him for 10 to 15 years. 
You'll get a menu at Snooky's, but you're allowed to just make up your order. 
Snooky's is located at 11 East Kennedy Street in Statesboro not far from Georgia Southern.
