Hinesville, GA – April 16, 2009 – A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday April 15th for Hinesville Professional Center (HPC), a new office park located on E.G. Miles Parkway, directly across from Liberty Regional Medical Center Hospital. The office park will bring more than 63,600 square feet of retail and Class A office space to the city of Hinesville.
Kenny Smiley, director of the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce, opened the ceremony, introducing developer Johnny Carnes, and Al Dixon, owner of Whitman Pharmacy, which will be relocating to the office park as its anchor tenant.
“We are pleased to have gotten so much positive response to this project, and happy to have such a wonderful turnout today,” said Carnes. “The project is just getting underway and we’ve already received commitments from Carey and Alan Jones of Jones Medical Equipment and Dr. Beauchamp of Spine & Sport. We’re proud of what we’re accomplishing with Hinesville Professional Center, and know the City of Hinesville will benefit from the business opportunities and jobs the project is creating as well.”
Dixon said, “We’re looking forward to continuing and expanding on Whitman Pharmacy’s tradition as a hometown, family pharmacy when we relocate to Hinesville Professional Center.” Whitman Pharmacy will relocate to the office park from its current location at 200 West Oglethorpe Highway. The pharmacy will occupy 4,000 square feet of the 10,000 square foot building already under construction. Jones Medical Equipment will occupy the middle suite of the building, with the remainder available for occupancy. The new Whitman Pharmacy will be considerably larger than the current store, with new, modern equipment and fixtures, and a drive thru window. It will offer a larger selection of the over the counter items and gifts. Completion of the building is expected by January 2010.
HPC will be built on 7.27 acres directly across from Liberty Regional Medical Center. Six of nine office buildings will be two stories with 7,200 square feet each, while two one-story buildings will each be 3,600 square feet, and one will be 3,200 square feet. The entire park will have more than 300 parking spaces. It’s proximity to the hospital makes HPC an ideal location for doctors’ offices and other medical-related businesses, according to the developers.
There were more than 50 people in attendance at that ceremony, including Carnes and Dixon, Alex and Jodie Tucker of Whitman Pharmacy, Carey and Alan Jones, and other members of the Jones Medical Equipment staff, Dr. Jacques Beauchamp of Spine & Sport, James Rogers from The Heritage Bank, along with city staff and other community business leaders
