Are you looking for some Spooktacular fun to help you get in the Halloween spirit?
The Crab Shack on Tybee Island is hosting a haunted house tonight and tomorrow night. It’s raising money for some little ones in our community.
It’s a frightful sight, especially at night; scenes from seven great scary movies.
“This is the Rocky Horror room, we have our men dancing on the tables here…our mummy in the box, “ Christi Sadley a server at The Crab Shack, walks us through the haunted house.
Wind through the dark to the shower scene from Psycho.
“You turn around here and this is where we have the Exorcist girl. She is tied up to the bed. She is vomiting out the side and the priest is here trying to cast the demons out of her head,“ she continues.
It wouldn’t be a haunted house without Dracula and Freddy
“They’re jump roping and hop-scotching and the Freddy will come out from the shadows and jump on you,” Sadley details.
The haunted house may seem pretty scary for adults, but don’t worry. You can still bring your young children. What they’ll do is they’ll notify everyone throughout the haunted house that you do have a young child with you and they’ll tone down the scare factor.
Gruesome scenes like “The Saw” room and there’s a TV playing video from “The Ring” leading visitors to the well the little girl crawls out of. Watch out as you step into the “It” room.
“You see the jail cell behind you and you’re thinking that you’re home free and then we have Hannibal Lector being strollered out with his mask and being tied up,” she adds.
If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to be brave and venture through the haunted house.
The haunted house was created by volunteers. It’s open from 6:30 to 9:30 tonight and tomorrow. Adult tickets are $8 and children ten and under are $4. Haunted house guests will also get 10% off on food. Follow the signs to The Crab Shack when you get to Tybee Island.
All of the proceeds will benefit the Magdalene Project, which is an emergency shelter for women and children run through Union Mission.
“It’s just wonderful to know that The Crab Shack has taken this tremendous amount of time to go all out to help you know our community, especially our children. We service a lot of children during the year. It can be up to 50-60 children,“ says Jeanette Ortiz-Andreou, the resident site manager at the Magdalene Project.
The donated money will go for food and clothing, medical care and even bus passes so the women have transportation to look for jobs.
