Imagine school lunch being the only hot meal you eat each day.  For a number of area children, it’s a cruel reality.  Now, a program that provides food to many kids could end without your support.  “Nourish 2 Learn”, based in several inner-city schools, gives mid-morning snacks and after-school hot meals to children.

Tonight, the Martin de Porres Society will hold an “Evening of Entertainment” with proceeds to benefit the program.  Organizers say they need $4,000 by the end of this academic school year to continue its service.  The event begins at 7 pm at the Landings Plantation Club and features a silent auction along with door prizes.  Tickets are $35.  If you are unable to attend, you can mail in your tax deductible contribution to: M. Wright/ 5 Raintree Lane/Savannah, Ga. 31411.

The Martin de Porres Society is a local non-profit organization that’s been serving disadvantaged children and families and addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs since 1986.
