“Losing my hair was the most difficult thing I’ve ever experienced in my entire life.“  Kay Sapp’s life was tested in November after a mammogram.
Now she’s returning to her new normal. She’s having her wig restyled at Transformation Station.  “The day that she shaved it it was actually floating in my coffee cup.  It was just that bad of coming out.“  A lump in her breast forced 2 surgeries and chemotherapy.  There was no time to cut corners.
“When we found the lump it looked as though it was so near the surface, but it was so deep that they said by the time I would have found it it would have probably been too late.“  Surgery would happen two days after her 54th birthday.  It’s been a tough journey, but Kay says having a good doctor is why she’s celebrating life.  “You really need that feeling that somebody’s holding your hand and helping you all the way.“  An extension of American Cancer Society support creating a world with more birthdays.  Still fighting, this breast cancer survivor is anxiously awaiting a brand new birthday before she turns another year older.  “When my next birthday comes I will have found out that I will be a grandmother this time, and that has made it even more exciting.“  Kay will go back to work Monday for the first time in 4 months.  So much progress has been made in helping people get well,  and helping them live longer.  To join the movement of millions fighting for more birthday candles to light go to—more birthdays.com.  You don’t have to be a cancer survivor to participate.
