The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two Yemassee teenagers were injured when a car hit a go-cart.

SCHP says it happened Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. on U.S. Hwy 21 in Colleton County.

Authorities say a 1989 Buick driven by 45 year-old Albert Smalls was driving south on Hwy 21.

Highway patrol officials say the driver of a go-cart going east on Centy Road (Sec-596) ran the stop sign and collided with the passenger side of the Buick.

Troopers say the driver of the go-cart, 16 year-old Delvin Williams, was air-lifted an area hospital, and the passenger, 17 year-old Ariel Williams, was taken to Colleton Regional Medical Center.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating.  No further information is available at this time.
