Beaufort defeated Bluffton 5-2 to earn a trip to the South Carolina tournament in Lexington.
Beaufort defeated Bluffton 5-2 to earn a trip to the South Carolina tournament in Lexington.
Beaufort rode some solid pitching by Joel Fickes and some timely hitting to defeat Bluffton 5-2 in Dixie Boys District 8 tournament play. Beaufort will play again in a couple of weeks in Lexington in the State Tournament.

Matthew Thorpe singled to score Shane Dixon to give Beaufort a 2-0 lead, one which they wouldn’t relinquish. Fickes threw a wild pitch in the second inning to score Bluffton’s Alex Norwood but Fickes settled down to strike out the side in that inning.
David Tilton scored Beaufort’s third run which would prove to be the gamewinner.
