Severe Thunderstorm Watch Tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH for Colleton County in South Carolina until 11p.m.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH means severe thunderstorms could develop.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening across parts of southeast Georgia and South Carolina.  A few of these storms could become severe, producing damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning and very heavy rain.

A cold front will stay to the north of the area, and there are several upper level disturbances moving in from the west.  The seabreeze is also able to push further inland.  All of this is coming together to create a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms.
