The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory… which is in effect from 8 am this morning to 1 pm edt this afternoon.

Tide levels are expected to reach between 9.2 to 9.4 ft mean lower low water at Fort Pulaski with this mornings high tide.

These tide levels typically produce shallow to moderate coastal flooding up and down the coast. Some locations that will be impacted across south coastal south carolina include minor flooding along parts of Dock Side Road and Scott Creek Drive on Edisto Beach and near the campgrounds on Hunting Island.

Some locations that will be impacted across north coastal Georgia include parts of highway 80 between Wilmington Island and Tybee Island. Water may also breach docks and bulkheads on Warnell Drive near Fort Mcallister and the Rabbit Hill community. Beach Road on Sapelo Island may also become flooded.

High tide will occur at 1146 am in the Beaufort River near Beaufort and 1032 am in the Savannah River entrance.

A coastal flood advisory indicates that winds and tides will combine to generate some salt water flooding of low-lying areas near the coast.
