(June 9, 2008) – Memorial Health Bariatrics, the gastric bypass surgery program at Memorial University Medical Center, has been selected as a Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) Blue Distinction Center for bariatric surgery. Blue Distinction is the BCBSA’s nationwide program for specialty care that identifies quality providers around the country.

SAVANNAH, Ga., June 4, 2008 – The 200th Gulfstream G200 was rolled out today at the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) manufacturing plant at Ben Gurion International Airport, Israel. The “green” business jet now moves to the Gulfstream Center of Excellence completion facility for mid-cabin business aircraft in Dallas, Texas, where it will be outfitted and painted.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (May 29, 2008) – The Memorial University Medical Center Board of Directors has named John Angstadt, M.D., senior vice president over physician services. Angstadt has been a surgeon at MUMC since 2001. He is medical director of Memorial Health Bariatrics and a member of the Savannah Colon and Rectal Surgery practice.
