TLC Offers an Educational Seminar on “I-9’s and Immigration Law Update”
Published: April 10, 2009
The Savannah Area Tourism Leadership Council is proud to extend another opportunity to learn the legalities of business with Sarah Lamar, partner with the HunterMaclean and whose focal point is Employment Law, which includes Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, WARN Act, ERISA, immigration laws and other laws. She also conducts in-house training for employers and advises clients on a variety of human resource issues.
This seminar will focus on a couple of updates, with the goal being to provide our members with a better understanding of the requirements for filling out I-9 forms and the ever-evolving immigration laws with which all employers must comply. Failing to complete these forms correctly could result in civil penalties and even criminal liability. This seminar is intended for HR personnel and office staff who complete I-9 forms for their business.
The seminar will take place at the TLC office, located in the Administrative Offices of the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center on Hutchinson Island, Wednesday, April 29th at 3pm, lasting approximately one hour. We will provide all necessary materials for the course. The cost is $10 for TLC members and $30 for non-members.
Seating is limited; make your reservations for this seminar no later than Friday, April 24th. If you are interested in information about upcoming TLC events, please visit our online calendar at http://www.tourismleadershipcouncil.com or contact the TLC office at 912.232.1223 or
