He's the star of the hit comedy "The Office", a big screen remake of "Get Smart" out next month, and this weekend, Steve Carell is hosting "Saturday Night Live".
For most "Saturday Night Live" hosts, the week in studio 8H is a treat, but not for Carell.
"I'm not having a blast. It's horrible. They're mean to me. They make you rehearse which, I'm not used to," Carell joked.
Tongue planted firmly in cheek, Carell complains the show is simply a machine that's
too well oiled.
This is Carell's second time as host, and it's a world away from Dunder Mifflin.
"It's unlike anything else in entertainment it's a different animal and I think you also have to commit to it and enjoy it," he said.
Speaking of fun, "The Office" season finale produced an arrest, an unexpected engagement, an equally unexpected reconciliation and a long awaited proposal that'll have to wait a while longer.
Meanwhile, Carell's new film, "Get Smart" opens in theaters June 20.
