As you might expect, "Kung Fu Panda" is set in China where a slacker panda, voiced by a perfectly cast Jack Black, works in his adopted father's noodle factory but dreams of becoming a kung fu master.
When an ancient prophecy chooses him face an evildoer.
Dustin Hoffman voices the kung fu master, the yoda type in this story with incredibly detailed animation and a wry sense of humor.
Ian McShayne of "Deadwood" voices the snow leopard, who wants to rule the valley of peace.
Other voices include Lucy Liu, Angelina Jolie, comedian David Gross, and Seth Rogen as the "Furious Five," Po the panda's kuing fu heroes who will help him in his task.
And when the snow leopard arrives, it's up to the tigress, voiced by Angelina Jolie, to be the first to face him.
Movie critic Jeffrey Lyons said, "Kung fu panda" is a great way to kick off the summer movie season for kids. The famous voices never get in the way of the good story and talk about an exotic locale. It's funny, it's gentle, and restores parent's faith that someone out there still knows how to make a good movie for kids."
