Director M. Night Shymalan has a new thriller in theaters this weekend.

A mysterious wave of mass suicides sweep the northeast in director M. Night Shymalan's "The Happening."

Director M. Night Shyamalan says "I always say it's a 90 minute paranoia movie. That's it. You come in, you are going to be paranoid when you come out."

As the events unfold, the scientific theory behind what's happening is explained by Mark Wahlberg who plays a science teacher.

Mark Wahlberg says "he didn't have to sell me that hard, I'm a big fan. I actually gave him crap about not hiring me for quite some time. But we had dinner and he said this is "Kramer vs. Kramer" meets "The Birds".

Mike Wilber asks "When you were coming up with the science of what's going on is a lot of it accurate?"

M. Night Shyamalan says "yeah it was dead accurate. Every single thing in it. And there was more stuff, but I wanted the balance in the movie to be, it could be this it could be that, and there was so much information to support my case, I didn't want it to be overt. But it was scary looking at all the info."

"The Happening" also co-stars Zooey Deschanel and John Leguizamo.

It's in theaters Friday, June 13th.
