Annie Castellano says do not let her size fool you.
The 20-year-old packs a powerful punch, despite her 4' 11" frame.
"What is it called, little man's complex? I think I might have that," she said.
On Monday, viewers can see her go up against the likes of Crush, Steel, and Venom - all names of American Gladiators.
"They're big, big girls," said Castellano.
With the show already taped weeks ago, Castellano calls taking on Gladiators twice her size in the joust event the most intimidating.
Castellano says she is a workout fanatic.
She says she put in countless hours of training for the show and says kickboxing was the biggest help.
"You watch it on TV and you're like, 'I can do that, it's no big deal. I can do it.' But it's really so much harder," she said.
A former soccer captain at Saint John Neumann High School in Naples, Florida Castellano is originally from Boston and goes to college in Chicago.
She grew up watching American Gladiators and says she only tried out as a joke.
"We didn't really think we were going to get picked," she said.
But the show did pick her out of 6,000 people that auditioned.
Though she couldn't tell us the outcome, if she wins it all, Castellano would take home $100,000, a new car, and actually gets to be a Gladiator next season.
You can watch Annie Castellano take on American Gladiators when her episode airs Monday, July 7 at 8 p.m.
