The actor who gained fame playing a wandering monk on TV’s “Kung Fu” and “Bill” in the “Kill Bill” movies is dead.

David Carradine was found hanged inside a hotel closet in Bangkok, Thailand.

His death was an apparent suicide.

David Carradine’s death at age 72 is being confirmed by the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand where the actor was filming a movie.

“It’s still under investigation but it looks like Mr. Carradine passed away either late last night or early this morning,“ said Michael Turner of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok.

Thai police say his body was found hanged in the closet of his luxury Bangkok hotel room they’re treating it as a suicide.

David Carradine was the star of the 1970’s, Emmy-award-winning TV series “Kung Fu”.

But he won acclaim most recently starring as “Bill” in Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” movies.

“He came up to me and said I think this is my best scene in the movie and I said ‘Quentin, I think that’s the best scene in my life!“ said Carradine in a recent interview.

Golden Globe judges agreed, nominating Carradine for a best actor award.

Carradine came from an iconic acting family.

Father, John, brothers Keith and Bobby were all often-used character actors in Hollywood.

Over five decades, Carradine appeared in more than 100 feature films, including last year’s ‘Golden Boys’.

It was 1976’s Oscar nominated “Bound For Glory” where he played legendary folk singer and activist Woody Guthrie that first made Hollywood stand up and take notice of David Carradine and take in his ability.
