Get Your Motor Running!

If you wish you had more energy to keep up with the demands of your busy life, WebMD offers these great ideas to help you get your motor running:

1.Increase your magnesium intake:  Your body uses magnesium to transform glucose into energy.  The recommended daily intake of magnesium is around 300 milligrams for women and 350 milligrams for men. Almonds, whole grains and fish are all good sources of magnesium.

2.Walk around the block: Even just 10 minutes of brisk walking can boost your energy level for a couple of hours.  Make walking a daily habit and you’ll notice improvements in your energy level and your mood.

3.Don’t skip breakfast:  Skip breakfast or any other meal and your energy will fade as the day goes on.

4.Eat more whole grains and less sugar: Eat whole grains to help keep blood sugar balanced and energy levels consistent throughout the day.

5.Make it a latte!  A non-fat latte is a great source of protein and calcium  and, of course, caffeine.
