Eating less is one of the keys to good health and a long life.  Many nutritionists recommend a lower calorie diet as a way to add years (healthy years!) to your life. 
During the holiday season and throughout the year, you don’t have to drastically reduce calories or deprive yourself in order to reap the healthy benefits of eating less.  You’ll accomplish a lot by approaching meals with moderation.  Here are some ideas to help you get started:

-Drink 6 - 8 ounces of water before each meal

-Fill up on plant foods – whole grains, vegetables and fruits


-Never eat in front of the TV

-Always leave some food on the plate

-Avoid eating when distressed
