Pet Rescue Group Teams up St. Vincent's AcademySaint Vincent’s Academy and Coastal Pet Rescue are teaming up.
All this year the students at the all girls Catholic School will be volunteering with the non profit animal rescue group.
Today the students met the group’s founder and one of the rescues.
Already more than fifty girls have signed on to help out with events like Home for the Holidays, adoption drives and fundraisers.
“It teaches them to give back to the community but most important it shows them the hard work and everything that goes into all these organization. How much help they really do need,” explains Megan Kitchens a teacher at the school.
“Having a group of high school students who are interested in animal welfare, who want to be involved is going to make a huge difference in our community. Later in life when they get to be adults and make their own decisions about what they do in regards to animals,” points out CPR Founder Lisa Scarbrough.
Next weekend the students will be helping Coastal Pet Rescue sell puppy kisses at the Pirates Fest on Tybee Island.
