A Tybee groups claims they were kicked out of the Tybee Island Irish Heritage Parade.
Celebrate St. Pat’s at the Mighty Eighth Museum
Pooler, Ga. – The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum is offering half price adult and children’s admission on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. The Museum has reduced its regular admission rate from $10 for adults and $6 for children to only $5 for adults and $3 for children’s admission.

Savannah Square Finally Reopens
The weather almost rained on the parade of the Savannah City Council today.
A grand opening ceremony was planned for Ellis Square this evening but because of the rain the festivities were cut back.
City Council held a ribbon cutting just about a half hour ago….
The 30-million dollar project has taken about a year and a half longer than expected.
Understandably folks aren’t just relieved the project is done… they’re also excited.
“3 on your side” Community Reporter Alice Massimi has more how what was once Savannah’s oldest square is now it’s newest.
Ellis Square Grand Opening Postponed
Savannah, GA: Due to rain and storms predicted through this afternoon, the Ellis Square grand opening is postponed until 1 p.m. Friday, March 12. The Friday event will be tented, and will be held rain or shine.

Smokers Split on Proposed Georgia Cigarette Tax
A battle is heating up in Georgia over a proposed tax hike on cigarettes.
The bill, written by Savannah State Representative Ron Stephens, would raise the price of a pack by a dollar.
The money generated would then be used to close a huge budget shortfall.
Opponents of the bill say the state needs to balance its budget without raising taxes.
As News Three’s Alice Massimi explains… to others, this bill is about more than money….it’s about saving lives.

A Sneak Peak of Savannah’s Ellis Square
It’s been a long time coming…
Tonight the renovation of Ellis Square is just days away from completion…
The area was originally a market… In the 50s a parking garage was built in the downtown square and was dubbed an eyesore.
Decades later in 2005—close to twenty-nine million dollars was dedicated to fix the square.
Not only did they tear down the old parking garage but they built an underground garage and on top of the garage, a park.

Tybee Roller Skate Night Fundraiser for Sick Child
A group of girls from Marshpoint Elementary School have been rallying around their friend, 9-year old Emily Brennan, who has a chronic nerve pain disorder and many medical procedures. Friends of the family are trying to raise money to help the Brennan family because they don’t have insurance. Tonight, you can help by going to the Skate Night at the Tybee YMCA. Emily’s friends will run the night.

City of Savannah Parking Offers Amnesty on Tickets
Savannah, GA: The City of Savannah is offering citizens a fresh start for the New Year. On Wednesday, Jan. 13, the City will launch a month-long parking penalty amnesty program that excuses any accumulated late fees if the vehicle owner pays the original citation fine. The program runs through Friday, Feb. 12.
