Toyota Floor Mats Recall
Toyota is dealing with an urgent matter. The company is officially recalling 3.8 million vehicles. They’re addressing problems with a removable floor mat that could cause accelerators to get stuck and lead to a crash. Four people in California were killed in an accident involving floor mats in August. We’re told that someone placed a thick, all weather mat on top of a carpeted mat- that rubber mat was then shoved up against the accelerator apparently pushing it open.
Toyota is warning drivers to remove the driver’s side floor mats until the problem is fixed. The recall includes 2007-2010 model year Toyota Camry, 2005-2010 Toyota Avalon, 2004-2009 Toyota Prius, 2005-2010 Tacoma, 2007-2010 Toyota Tundra, 2007-2010 Lexus ES350 and 2006-2010 Lexus IS250/IS350.
