Early Morning Fire Damages Savannah Duplex

Savannah Fire officials were kept busy overnight, fighting a blaze at an apartment complex.

Just before 1:00 Monday morning, crews responded to a duplex on Damon Street.

When they arrived on scene, smoke and flames could be seen coming out of the structure.

Authorities were quickly able to get the fire under control, but not before the building suffered damage.

We're told the unit has been vacant for the past several weeks. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
