Bluffton Teen Wanted in Hilton Head Plantation Home Robbery
An 18-year old Bluffon teen has been identified by Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigators as a suspect in yesterday’s robbery at a Hilton Head Plantation Home.
Garfield Moss, Jr. of Bluffton is wanted on one charge of 1st degree Burglary after being identified as the suspect who entered the Teal Lane residence around noon yesterday.
Beaufort County Officials say Moss was armed with a large stick when he walked into the home, going straight to a bedroom. Officials say Moss was stealing a collection of coins when he was confronted by the homeowner.
They say homeowner chased the teen from the home, firing a shot from a handgun at Moss as he fled the area. Witnesses say Moss got into a green SUV, possibly driven by a second suspect. Investigators are following up on leads in identifying the getaway driver.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s officials say Moss is a black male of light complexion, with short brown hair and green eyes. He is approximately 6’01”, 170 lbs, with a last known address of Lawrence Street in Bluffton.
