On July 1st, 2009, CNT concluded an investigation concerning a business located at 310 East Montgomery Cross Roads (Grillz by Mo) that was being utilized to distribute cocaine.  Several controlled purchases were made from the business over a span of several months that involved both the owner of the business and his brother. The owner was identified as Morris WEST AKA “Mo”, and his brother was identified as Michael WEST. CNT agents along with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit executed a search warrant at the business and another one at a nearby residence that was connected with the operation.
A search of the business produced the following items:
-approximately forty (40) bags of cocaine packaged for distribution
-a loaded Taurus .22 caliber pistol
- a small amount of marijuana seized from Morris WEST
-approximately $500 in currency (also seized from Morris WEST)
-packaging materials/miscellaneous paperwork
NOTE: each of the approximately 40 bags of cocaine weighed approximately 3 grams each and would typically be sold for $150.  This would make the cocaine worth approximately $6,000.
Another search warrant was executed at the residence of Morris WEST AKA “Mo” which resulted in the following items being seized.
-over two ounces of powder cocaine worth approximately $6,000 (when broken down to 3 gram bags that were like the ones seized from the business)
-approximately 109 pills of ecstasy packaged for distribution
-a loaded Glock .40 caliber firearm
-a loaded .40 caliber Ruger firearm
-digital scales and packaging materials
- approximately 5 large marijuana plants that were growing in the backyard
- a 6 ton hydraulic press (used for pressing cocaine)
- cocaine cutting agents

Morris Lenard WEST was arrested and charged with sale of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in ecstasy, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
Michael WEST was arrested and charged with sale of cocaine and trafficking in cocaine
